Modern fuel has ethanol additives. Ethanol is a chemical used to ‘keep’ fuel and to reduce harmful emissions. The level of ethanol added to fuel can damage your carburettor if left for any length of time. Most of the time leaving a thick residue in the bottom of the carburettor bowl, damaging seals and clogging the workings within the carburettor, stopping it from mixing the air and fuel correctly.
This is also a part that wears with use, and usually is replaced after 3000-3500 hours. If you are replacing before this time, it could be because, either contaminated fuel has been used or the Generator was stored for a long period with fuel in the system.
